Storm (for Sunday Scribblings)

Howling around the house
And knocking against the windows
A storm provides the backdrop
For my morning meditation

Inside my mind
An internal storm
Of thoughts and feelings
Blows away my concentration

But at its centre
In the eye of the storm
There is stillness
And peace

  1. What a great analogy. I feel that too with my mind a whirl of creativity whilst I am relaxed and happy in the middle of it.

  2. You've captured it well--the storms and onslaughts while peace sits quietly.

  4. I like the comparison of the inner and outer storms. Yes, thankfully, even in a hurricane there is a center of calm. Finding that peaceful center is the key to surviving the onslaught, whatever it's source.

I recently added this quote to my blog and your thoughts made me think of it. I love the mention of the eye in the middle, like our core, it ultimately holds everything together.
